Sun publishes articles on construction projects

The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun published articles about two campus construction projects, College Hall and the Small Sport Center, in the April 29, 2021, issue of the newspaper.

Contractors began the College Hall Restoration Project, part of the Greater>Than Campaign, at the end of March and will finish in time for classes in the fall. Thanks to a lead gift from Robert McLennan ’65 and Rebecca Martin McLennan ’64, the building, which will bear their name, will see many changes such as a new finance lab, renovated bathrooms, new ADA accessible entries, and a new HVAC system.

Construction on the Small Sport Center is also underway, and the 18-month project is projected to finish in the fall of 2022. Jean Russell ’65, Scott Ririe ’79 and his wife Shelley, and Richard Small ’50 and his wife, honorary alumna Norma Thomas Small, have provided initial leadership gifts to kickstart the Athletic and Wellness Facilities Project. The project will include a new wellness and fitness center, a new athletic training room, new locker room facilities, new centralized office spaces, two classrooms, and two group exercise rooms.
