Author and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin spoke about the eight traits that made Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt so successful as presidents at the 2014 Delta Phi Rho Lecture at Cornell College on Sept. 18.

The Berry Center for Economics, Business and Public Policy will host a panel on business leadership featuring four local business leaders on at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16. in Hedges Conference Room in the Thomas Commons. The event is free and open to the public.

Sacred Heart Archive in weeklong residency
Members of the Sacred Heart Archive are on campus for a week-long residency to support the ensemble cast of “Here and Now.” The residency will conclude with two workshops and a showing of the company’s devised production, “The Key Said Run and the Door Said Fly.” This free performance will be held on Saturday April 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimmel and will be followed by a post-show discussion open to the public.

Lee Epstein, a professor at the University of Southern California School of Law will give a public talk at Cornell College about the past, present, and future of the Supreme Court at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 in the Hedges Conference Room in the Thomas Commons as part of the Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar series.

Staged reading of “Virtue” Nov. 14
The Cornell College Department of Theatre is hosting a staged reading of Tim Slover’s “Virtue” on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. on the Cornell College campus in the Plumb-Fleming Studio Theatre. Admission is free and open to the public. The audience is invited to remain in the theatre for a talk with the cast, playwright and director following the reading. This event is intended for mature audiences.
