Ceramics and drawing classes study in Mexico and Japan
Professor Doug Hanson’s work has been shaped by his encounters with traditional potters from around the globe. During a unique two-block sequence taught in Mexico, he introduces students to local artisans and other cultural treasures as they study ceramics and drawing.

Katie Crooks ’04 coordinates art programs at the Smithsonian
Katie Crooks ’04 majored in art with a focus on art history at Cornell and minored in English and psychology. She then earned a master’s in art history and museum training at George Washington University and now works for the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM).

Burke teaches art to at-risk students
Mike Burke ’01 majored in secondary education and art at Cornell. From 2002 through 2006, he taught at-risk students at Colorado High School Charter in Denver before moving into a district-wide technology role.

Bloomquist worked with Maya Lin as grad student in architecture
Mitch Bloomquist ’04 recently earned a master’s degree from the Washington University School of Architecture and Urban Design in St. Louis. At Cornell, he followed the pre-architecture track while majoring in art and minoring in music.
