Irish musical combines campus, community
The Cornell College Theatre Department will present the award-winning musical comedy “A Man of No Importance” Feb. 19-27 in Kimmel Theatre. Directed by Jim Van Valen with musical direction by Julia Andrews West, the production celebrates the power of theatre and the love of community by highlighting community members and Cornell alumni.

Cornell College’s Theatre Department is hosting three guest artists who are teaching courses during Blocks 5 and 6, as well as two members of a New York acting troupe in residence for a week during Block 7.

Stephanie Lampkin ’08, collections manager for the Chemical Heritage Foundation, is mentioned in an article about the foundation’s acquisition of the SPEX Fluorolog Spectrometer, the instrument that led to the use of resonance light scattering to explore the world of supramolecular chemistry.

Clint Parry ’09 was named the master model builder for Legoland Discovery Center Michigan after winning a LEGO Brick-building competition and job interview on Jan. 10.

Write-in candidate Johnson Pendleton ’87 visits Jan. 14
U.S. presidential write-in candidate and Cornell College alumna Cathy Johnson Pendleton ’87 will speak at Cornell at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, in Shaw Lounge of the Thomas Commons. The Town Meeting event is open to the public and is part of a presidential candidates visit series.
