Knoop article featured on the IMF Global Governance Forum

Professor Todd KnoopDavid Joyce Professor of Economics and Business Todd Knoop wrote an article that was recently published on the IMF’s Global Governance Forum website.

The article, “Global inequality has gone local–and why this matters,” discusses the evolution of inequality over the past several decades. While global inequality has lowered, local inequality has grown.

“This means that your country of birth matters a bit less in determining your income than it once did–but your neighborhood matters more,” Knoop wrote in the article. “Inequality is now something most people can see around them, not just read about in global reports.”

Knoop’s primary research and teaching interests are macroeconomic theory and economic development. He has published several books and articles and has a Ph.D. in economics from Purdue University. Knoop has taught at Cornell College since 1998.
