Rouse interviewed following international poetry fellowship

Jen Rouse, director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Cornell College, recently traveled to Bulgaria as one of only four English-speaking poets selected to participate in an international poetry fellowship.

The experience is documented in a July 28 story in The (Cedar Rapids) Gazette, “Iowa City poet Jen Rouse gains a new perspective with international poetry fellowship.”

She tells The Gazette, “I truly wanted a writing experience I’d never had before in a country that was completely new to me. Being curious in new ways, not just revisiting old patterns felt very important.”

Rouse has published four books of poetry and produced two plays. Dungy Writing Studio Director Laura Farmer wrote the article for The Gazette.
