CSRI featured on Everyday Iowa

The Cornell Summer Research Institute (CSRI) was featured on KCRG-TV9’s Everyday Iowa program on June 25, 2024.

CSRI Director and Assistant Professor of Statistics Tyler George, Assistant Professor of Biology Joshua Otten, and Cornell senior Sarah Renaud discussed the institute and one of the many research projects taking place this summer. Otten and Renaud are part of a team working to track and understand the behavior of area turtle species.

“Cornell has had summer research going on for multiple decades on all different topics from literature projects to biology projects to statistics projects–that’s my area of expertise,” George said to KCRG’s Everyday Iowa host Justin Roberts. “So this is one of the many amazing projects going on this summer. We have 25 different faculty working with over 50 students this summer doing different research projects.”

At the end of the program, students will present their findings at a student e-poster symposium on July 10 and 11 in the Thomas Commons, Hall-Perrine Room. CSRI runs until July 12, 2024.
