Work study: More than a job
They keep the library open late at night and on weekends. They run gameday live streams for fans and parents at home. They are stage managers, food servers, tutors, and much more.
Cornell work-study students help make this college run and we couldn’t do it without them.
Forty percent, or 437 Cornellians, were awarded work-study as part of their financial assistance packages this academic year. These part-time jobs can come with substantial responsibilities. The student employees earn money and gain skills, often selecting positions that can improve their resumes for their future careers.
We asked seven of our student workers to share how they serve the campus through their work, and what they enjoy about it.
Bonus: Five alums also shared about the work-study jobs they never forgot.
