Fall athletes and students associated with Each One Teach One and International Student Orientation have already moved in, and the rest of the Ramily moves in this week.

“Move-in is one of the best parts of the year!” said Director of Residence Life Dan Chou. “It’s great to see friends reuniting after the summer months and to see new students start their Cornell story during New Student Orientation.”

More than 350 new students will be moving to campus this week with exciting talents and interests. Within the new class, there’s a student who was the co-founder of a Chinese Club at their high school, a student who builds and designs cat trees, a student who has made 1,000 pounds of homemade laundry detergent, a student who has been the leader in several plays and musicals, a student who was the leader of their high school’s Black Student Union, and a student who will be a fourth-generation Cornellian. Welcome to the Ramily!

New students

New Student Orientation (NSO) for first-year and transfer students kicks off on Wednesday, Aug. 23. Move-in is scheduled for Aug. 25 to avoid the high heat. If you are a new student and have any concerns or need to move in earlier than Friday, please contact your admission counselor. Campus staff members are organizing a variety of online and in-person options based on when students move into their residence halls.

Each One Teach One & International Student Orientation

The Office of Intercultural Life welcomed students for International Student Orientation and Each One Teach One programs, Aug. 18-22, to assist students of color and new international students in their transition to Cornell.

Returning students

The residence halls open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26. Check-in for returning students will run from 9 a.m.–9 p.m. on both Saturday, Aug. 26, and Sunday, Aug. 27.

Following all of the orientation programming and move-in processes, students will get to work during Block 1 of the school year on Aug. 28.
