‘A Lot on My Plate’ on display through Dec. 14
AnnaLisa Wolf’s senior thesis art show is on display in the Peter Paul Luce Gallery from Dec. 4–Dec. 14.
Wolf’s show is a performance piece that took place on opening night. Gallery visitors can see the video showing the performance displayed on the wall during regular gallery hours.
“The show is titled ‘A Lot on My Plate,’ Wolf said. “It is an abstract portrayal of generational trauma. The viewer sits down at a table with me and is prompted by the audio playing to open one of the fortune cookies on the plates. The cookies are made from bone dry, fired clay, and the fortune reads ‘Only YOU can break the cycle.’
Wolf says she thought of the idea at the end of last year and has been working on fine-tuning the pieces and performance ever since then.
“I think what I’m most proud of is all of the hand-made work I did that goes along well with all of the carefully curated found objects,” Wolf said.
The Peter Paul Luce Gallery is located in McWethy Hall. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m.–4 p.m., Sunday 2–4 p.m., and it’s closed on Saturday.
