Cornell celebrates International Education Week
Cornell College is preparing to celebrate International Education Week during the fourth week of Block 3, Nov. 14–16.
Across the world organizations are observing the week, an initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, to highlight programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.
The Office of Intercultural Life (ICL) in collaboration with the Office of Off-Campus Studies, the Health Promotions Office, and the Richard and Norma Small Athletic and Wellness Center have organized daily events for the Cornell community and the greater public. The team is excited to bring these events to the community and to celebrate international cultures and studying abroad.
“We celebrate International Education Week because education has no borders, and we want to honor that! We want to make sure we are doing our part in bringing the world closer together through this celebration,” said Senior Diversity Officer and Director of Intercultural Life Hemie Collier.
Organizers say the language and culture exchange on Nov. 16 is the highlight of the week, and campus community members will have the opportunity to learn phrases from various cultures from faculty, staff, and students.
