Knoop interviewed for Russian news program
David Joyce Professor of Economics and Business Todd Knoop did an interview for Voice of America Russia on Jan. 4, 2022.
Knoop says he was talking with the reporter about the positive and negative shocks created by COVID-19 on both the supply and demand side of the economy. He says because of that it’s even more dangerous than usual to listen to economists’ predictions about the state of the economy over the next few months.
In addition, he says, “What might be weighing more negatively on the economy at this point is just the unyielding uncertainty that COVID continues to create, and the many little ways that it prevents everyone from planning for what a post-COVID economy could look like.”
According to its website, Voice of America (VOA) is the largest U.S. international broadcaster, providing news and information in more than 40 languages to an estimated weekly audience of more than 311 million people.
Knoop was also interviewed by VOA on Nov. 7.
