Travel abroad with Cornellians
Just as travel is opening up and people are eager to venture into the world again, Cornell is launching the Cornell College Alumni Travel Program.
If you never got to study abroad, or if you did and loved it, now is your chance to join other Cornellians and embark on a learning adventure. AHI Travel, a company with 60 years experience that specializes in alumni travel, is Cornell’s partner. The first two trips will take place in 2022 to France and Italy.
France, June 25–July 3, 2022
President Jonathan Brand and Rachelle LaBarge look forward to sharing their passion for France with Cornellians during this eight-day trip to discover the history and culture of Normandy.
Brand holds a master’s degree in French literature and a bachelor’s degree in history and French. He has studied the language and culture of France and, with Rachelle, has traveled extensively throughout the region. He has led student trips through the country, served as an interpreter, and spent time living in the region.
Italy, Sept. 17–25, 2022
Professor of Art History Christina Penn-Goetsch will host an eight-day trip to discover the treasures of Tuscany. An engaging teacher, she has lived in Rome and worked in the Vatican Secret Archive and Rome’s State archives. She also was a study leader for Smithsonian Journey tours to Sicily and Southern Italy in 2013-14.
Both trips include an AHI travel director who knows the language and customs of the region. The company also provides pre-trip support and customized travel tips. Full information is available online.
