The article shares that the team has grown from seven to 20 cheerleaders this year. It also explains that the student-led team supports and teaches one another.

Abigail Patten (captain) and Allison Colvard (co-captain) were interviewed for the story about their successes.

“I’ve made an impact,” Patten told Iowa’s News Now. “It’s like my dream team. Yeah, I love it so much.”

At Cornell, leadership is one of the many ways students participate in experiential learning opportunities, which is a big part of Cornell’s new curriculum. The Ingenuity in Action program encourages students to participate in experiential learning both in and out of the classroom and reflect on the knowledge and skills they’ve gained.
