Campus lilies
Master gardener Gary Oster ’58 donated a collection of 200 varieties of lilies for the campus, most of which bloom in the middle of the Thomas Commons Circle Drive. Our favorite is a purple lily with faint white edges that Oster hybridized and named Cornell Greater Be Thy Name.
Cornell Maintenance Technician John Bauer took this photo on July 17, 2020, prior to the derecho that pummeled the campus a month later.
