Cornell College to hold Virtual Homecoming October 2020

Cornell College has made the difficult decision to move its Homecoming celebrations online for the 2020 celebration.“We are making this decision proactively in order to protect not only the health and well-being of our guests, but also the students, faculty, and staff who study, work, and live on the Hilltop,” said Director of Alumni Engagement Michael Geneser. “Additionally, we wanted to make the decision early enough to allow our alumni and guests to adjust their travel plans.”

The Alumni Engagement Office is hard at work planning several virtual activities to take place during the first week of October.

These Virtual Homecoming events will allow alumni to engage with people on campus and with each other, from the comfort and safety of their homes. Some virtual events will include classroom lectures, happy hours, trivia, and a theatre performance.

“We know that for those of you celebrating reunion milestones this year, this news may be very disappointing,” said  Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Zoe Russell. “We are working to create virtual reunion celebrations and alternative plans and will be communicating additional information with alumni in the coming weeks. We look forward to celebrating with you virtually in October.”

The Alumni Engagement Office will be sending additional details via email about Virtual Homecoming festivities and how to get involved as those plans become finalized.
