Chemistry professors share block plan benefits
Cornell College was featured prominently in a story in Chemical & Engineering News about the benefits of the block plan.
The story, “Block plan compresses one class into a few weeks for deeper learning,” was published on July 3, 2020.
The article features quotes and information from two Cornell chemistry professors, Charley Liberko and Jai Shanata.
During a block, professors have great freedom in how they allocate time in their course. “Pedagogically, we can do what makes sense for the students,” said Liberko in the article. “We don’t have to break everything into 50 minute chunks.”
