“The timing of the Bootcamp events is ideal because it prepares students for the Career Expo that takes place the following week on Feb. 25,” said Senior Director of the Berry Career Institute Jodi Schafer. “We’ll host a variety of exhibitors including employers, graduate schools, and service providers.”

The Career Expo is an opportunity for students to connect one-on-one with a variety of professionals from many different fields. The event takes place in Smith Dining Room within the Thomas Commons from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. on Feb. 25.

Students will also get to build relationships with Cornell alumni who are currently working at businesses attending the expo.

“This year alone we are welcoming alumni-affiliated exhibitors such as Integrated DNA Technologies, GreatAmerica Financial Services, FoodCorps, Transportation Security Administration and CRST,” said Berry Career Institute’s Employer Relations & Career Coaching Director Jason Napoli. “In addition, we are also excited to welcome back repeat attendees and hiring companies such as Northwestern Mutual, ACT, GEICO, Transamerica, The Englert Theater and Tanager Place. With 25+ attendees, we always look to bring new collaborators into the mix and look forward to welcoming first-time attendees such as Johnson Controls and Alliant Energy.”

Napoli says the goal of the Career Expo is to demonstrate the strong talent Cornell College can provide to the businesses and to connect students with new opportunities.

This expo is for all majors and class years, and students who attend will be entered into drawings for prizes (Bluetooth earbuds, mini Keurigs, waterproof Bluetooth speakers, a Fitbit Inspire, and a $100 Amazon gift card) and can get a free headshot photo for their LinkedIn profile. Those planning to attend are encouraged to RSVP via Handshake by Friday, Jan. 21, in order to receive personalized business cards. You do not need to RSVP to attend.
