Student featured on ‘Ethical Perspectives’

Cornell College junior Jonathan Lopez, a licensed practical nurse, joined the University of Iowa’s Professor Aliasger Salem and Dr. Thomas Richmann, a physician at Marion Family Practice, in a panel discussion titled “Drug Pricing: Finding a Balance” on KCRG-TV9’s “Ethical Perspectives on the News.”

Cornell Professor of Computer Science Leon Tabak moderated the discussion. Lopez is a recent transfer student to Cornell College, where he is majoring in business analytics.

The group spoke about the high cost of medicines, factors that determine those costs, and public policies that could increase innovation, affordability, and access.

KCRG-TV will broadcast the program on Nov. 24 at 5:30 a.m. on Channel 9 and at 11 a.m. on Channel 9.2 (709 on ImOn and 109 on MediaCom). It will also be available on YouTube following its broadcast.
