Local news features new esports program

KCRG-TV9 produced a story on Cornell’s new esports team that aired on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019.

Cornell junior Ben Soderberg talked with KCRG about the importance of communication during the game.

“If you can’t communicate, you miss important things, important timings, and then you just lose value, and then it’s over,” Soderberg said.

After only a few months of organization and construction, the Cornell College esports arena in Thomas Commons is now up and running. It’s filled with 12 state-of-the-art gaming computers, screens, and peripherals suitable for intercollegiate gaming competitions.
