Students interviewed about creating gesture-controlled piano
Cornell students Will Dragon, junior, and Qingbao Wang, senior, were featured in a story produced by KCRG-TV9 about their creation of an ultrasonic, gesture-controlled piano.
The students are working on the project as part of the Cornell Summer Research Institute.
The students built the piano from scratch, which plays notes based on where a person places their hands near the ultrasonic sensors. The idea for the research came from an open-source project on instructables.com, and the students improved the idea and added more features to it.
