KWWL features monarch butterfly research

Cornell College students were featured on the evening news discussing their Cornell Summer Research Institute project.

The story aired on KWWL on Aug. 17, 2018. 

Stephanie Voller ’19, Kate Ratliff ’21, Charlotte New ’20, and Erin Hosto ’21 worked with Professor Tammy Mildenstein to learn more about the declining population of monarch butterflies and their connection to milkweed plants, which they need to survive. The group tracked the development of the caterpillars on milkweed plants in prairies across Eastern Iowa.
