Hassell writes piece for The Washington Post
Hans Hassell wrote a piece for The Washington Post’s Monkey Cage, “The lesson of the Steny Hoyer controversy: party insiders still matter after all.”
The post is based on Hassell’s research into primary elections. The Cornell College politics professor recently published a book detailing years of research on the topic called “The Party’s Primary.” His interest started when he witnessed the influence party organizations and party elites had on the nomination process while he was working as a staff member on political campaigns.
According to The Washington Post’s website, “The Monkey Cage’s mission is to connect political scientists and the political conversation by creating a compelling forum, developing publicly focused scholars, and building an informed audience.”
