Cornell Board elects 2 trustees
The Cornell College Board of Trustees has elected two new members, Ann Lewis Murray ’86 and Young Trustee Husani Newbold ’18.
Ann Lewis Murray ’86
Murray is chief administrative officer with Peak Ten Capital LLC, a Greenwich, Connecticut-based hedge fund that focuses on the global technology sector. Prior to joining Peak Ten Capital in 2006, Murray worked in the music industry for 15 years in Los Angeles and New York at A&M Records, PolyGram, Universal Music Group and EMI Records. Her experience included sales, marketing, artists and repertoire administration, copyright, e-commerce, global standards, metadata, production, operations, and supply chain. She graduated from Cornell College with a degree in economics and business.
She is a member of the Junior League of Greenwich and a steering committee member of Woman Owned Greenwich, a local organization that supports female entrepreneurs. She was a FIRST robotics team mentor and has held leadership positions at her children’s schools. She and her husband reside in Greenwich and have three children.
Husani Newbold ’18
Newbold is from Freeport, The Bahamas, and graduated from Cornell College with a bachelor’s degree in data analytics. He will be a graduate assistant studying for his master’s degree in applied econometrics and data analytics at the University of Arizona.
At Cornell Newbold was team captain of the track & field team, was elected to Student Senate, and served as a resident assistant, peer advocate, and orientation leader. He worked for the marketing and civic engagement offices, and held a marketing internship at Amazing Edibles Catering Company in Chicago. Newbold also enjoyed volunteering for the Lunch Buddies Program with the local elementary school and participating in Alternative Spring Break.
