Cornell collects 3 CASE District VI awards
Cornell College recently won three awards in the District VI Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) competition.
The awards and those recognized were:
- Gold Award: Magazine Publishing Improvement, Cornell Report. Dee Ann Rexroat, editor, and Allan Recalde, creative director.
- Silver Award: Student Recruitment – Individual Publications, Cornell College Insider Guide. Jen Visser, editor, Allan Recalde, creative director, Abbie Krajewski, writer, and Susan Readnour, printing technology.
- Bronze Award: College and University General Interest Magazines, Cornell Report (summer 2017). Dee Ann Rexroat, editor, Allan Recalde, creative director.
The Cornell Report magazine was redesigned in-house following a CASE Readership Survey and an internal review of the state of commercial and college magazine design. Thank you to our alumni readership for helping us achieve this award with your rich feedback.
The Insider Guide was a communication to new Cornellians with advice and tips from current Cornellians about what life on campus is really like, their favorite places and traditions, and what to pack and what to leave at home. It was delivered in a small spiral bound book format with visually interesting design elements made possible by new printing technology added to the Mail and Service Center in 2017. (The Office of Marketing and Communications had much fun developing the content and format.)
The awards were presented at the annual district conference Jan. 28–30 in St. Louis. CASE District VI represents Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. This large geographic area includes every size and type of institution.
