Students, faculty, and staff were featured in the news for the Refugee Simulation event held on campus on Friday, Jan. 19. Reporters with CBS2, The Gazette, and Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun produced stories on the event. The Social Justice Initiative hosted it as part of MLK Week. From 9 a.m. to noon, participants went through a 10-module simulation of a family experiencing war-like conditions, making the decision to leave their home country for an industrialized country nearby, and trying to tackle the challenges of living in that country.
