Refugee Simulation covered by local reporters

Students, faculty, and staff were featured in the news for the Refugee Simulation event held on campus on Friday, Jan. 19.

Reporters with CBS2, The Gazette, and Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun produced stories on the event.

The Social Justice Initiative hosted it as part of MLK Week. From 9 a.m. to noon, participants went through a 10-module simulation of a family experiencing war-like conditions, making the decision to leave their home country for an industrialized country nearby, and trying to tackle the challenges of living in that country.
