The consortium consists of a group of private colleges and universities from around the country that collaboratively share, analyze, and use data of all kinds to advance their institutional missions.

“HEDS helps small, private colleges with a liberal arts focus to tackle their needs concerning data collection and data sharing,” Miller said. “It’s a consortium of colleagues who can help problem solve and troubleshoot in any situation. The board will be working to think strategically about the direction of the organization to ensure it’s sustainable for the future.”

Miller has worked at Cornell for nearly three years and focuses her time and energy to encourage data-driven decision making to drive student success and foster institutional effectiveness.

She believes HEDS is an important resource, especially as her work is continuously changing along with the landscape of higher education.

She is the first Cornell College representative to serve as a HEDS board member.
