Boggs was one of two people unanimously voted citizen of the year by the CDG Board of Directors. She shares the spotlight with Lisbon Librarian Amy White.

“Both of our local librarians have celebrated a milestone anniversary in the past few years,” said Joe Jennison, Director of the Mount Vernon-Lisbon CDG. “We thought the timing was right to acknowledge these two women and celebrate the good work they do for all members of our communities.”

Boggs is celebrating 20 years at Cole Library. Her position is paid by the city and administered by the college.

The annual awards are chosen by the CDG Board of Directors based on these factors:

  • Recipient’s volunteerism reflects the mission of the Mount Vernon-Lisbon CDG, which is to promote and develop the business environment, including the Main Street District, and enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve
  • Recipient excels at offering exemplary service to the communities of Mount Vernon and/or Lisbon
