Cornell features alumni photography

The Cornell Alumni Photography 2016 exhibit will unfold at the Peter Paul Luce Gallery on the Cornell College campus from Sept. 11 to Oct. 23.

An artist’s reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, in McWethy Hall. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 p.m.

The show will feature works by William Widmer ’04, Stephanie Penn ’05, Katelynn McAllister ’09, Rachel Minier ’12, and Kevin McCusker ’15. A reception and artist’s lecture will be held during Homecoming weekend, on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 3-5 p.m.

William Widmer ’04 will give the Homecoming Artist’s Lecture at 4 p.m. in the Keyes Art History classroom in McWethy Hall, room 222. He will discuss his recent body of work focusing on the human ecology of the Gulf Coast and the environmental issues that threaten the region.  Widmer is a documentary and editorial photographer based in New Orleans. He works on assignment for publications including the New York Times, National Geographic, The New Yorker, TIME, and The Atlantic. Widmer covers news and feature stories throughout the South.
