For the sixth time, Cornell College has been recognized as a Fiske “Best Buy” school for quality academic offerings and affordable cost.
Cornell is one of only 26 private colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. listed as a “Best Buy” in the 2017 edition of “Fiske Guide to Colleges.”
The list recognizes schools that fall into the inexpensive or moderate price category and have excellent academic ratings. On the list of private colleges and private universities, Cornell College is the only Iowa school.
“We know affordability and quality are important factors that play into every student’s college decision, and we’re pleased to be nationally recognized for providing such a value,” said Colleen Murphy, vice president for enrollment and admission. “As proof, we continuously see graduates succeed in many ways—whether they are furthering their education or finding a job—after their time at Cornell.”
The “Fiske Guide to Colleges” has been published for more than 30 years, and was created by former New York Times Education Editor Edward B. Fiske. Cornell has received the distinction several times, including in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017.
Cornell College is routinely recognized by numerous organizations and publications. It is one of the “Colleges that Change Lives,” a select group of schools recognized for academic quality and exceptional opportunities. Cornell is also ranked 71 in Kiplinger’s list of of Best Values in Liberal Arts Colleges, and is ranked 156 among all colleges for 2016. U.S. News also ranks Cornell in the top 100 national liberal arts colleges.
