High school students are deep into summer jobs and activities, but many are also taking steps toward deciding which college to attend.

The first full week of August is traditionally Iowa Private College Week (IPCW), when Iowa’s non-profit, private colleges and universities synchronize campus tour schedules across the state, making it easy for students and parents to schedule up to 10 campus visits in only one week. IPCW takes place this year Aug. 1–5.

Prospective students and their families can choose to attend an afternoon or morning tour with Cornell College’s tour guides. Throughout the visit, they’ll see the sights around campus and attend a handful of short presentations to learn more about Cornell. During one of those presentations, faculty members will tell students about Cornell’s One Course At a Time curriculum in which students take one course for 18 days. The college’s calendar is made up of eight blocks.

Cornell College’s admissions team is busy scheduling and planning those tours right now, which students or families can set up online.

Campus tours help students learn about the strong academics, high graduation and job placement rates, and financial aid options that make private colleges an affordable and great quality option.

Students who visit at least three campuses and mail in an entry form are entered in a drawing for one of up to fifty $500 bookstore vouchers.
