Professor Kelsey Feser and John Lewis ’17 are working with samples of shells to discover more about once-living marine populations for their Cornell Summer Research Institute project.
They will date the shells using a technique called Amino Acid Racemization. The samples were removed from the seafloor to determine how those communities change over time and how humans have impacted that change.
