Dellimore and Professor Martin research Syberberg films for CSRI

Dale Dellimore ’19 and Professor of Music James Martin are spending a lot of time in front of a screen watching old films. They’re researching what each one reveals about Germany’s history during World War II.

“Film, art, and politics were kind of all married together, so we are trying to separate all of those and say what did each of these say about the Germans,” Dellimore said.

This is their Cornell Summer Research Institute project. They’ll dive into films and explore books and other research about Nazi Germany.

Forty students and 23 faculty members are collaborating on intensive research projects across the liberal arts disciplines during the 10-week summer institute.
