Gazette, KCRG feature seed bombing workshop
The (Cedar Rapids) Gazette and Cedar Rapids ABC affiliate KCRG-TV9 both posted stories about a seed bombing workshop hosted at Cornell College by visiting artist Mike Bianco.
Both news outlets came to a workshop Bianco hosted that showed students and community members how to create seed bombs—mixtures of clay, soil, and seeds designed to grow naturally, in contrast to the chemically treated gardens and agriculture prevalent in the region. As Bianco showed students how to mix the clay and soil with water and then create the golf ball-sized seed bombs, he talked about people who have used natural methods to create sustainable agriculture around the world.
His exhibit, “The Future Exists Because We Have Imagined It,” opens Sunday, Nov. 1, and runs through Dec. 6 in the Peter Paul Luce Gallery in McWethy Hall,
