Music Mondays season starts Oct. 12
The 2015-2016 Music Mondays season at Cornell College begins Oct. 12 with a performance by Ensemble Schumann at 7:30 p.m. in King Chapel.
Ensemble Schumann is a trio made up of pianist Sally Pinkas, violist Steve Larson, and oboist Thomas Gallant.
The trio present works by Schumann, Brahms, Saint-Saëns, Loeffler, Poulenc, Shostakovich and many others. Pinkas, Larson, and Gallant have each performed at venues such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York City, Jordan Hall in Boston, Wigmore Hall in London, the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., and the festivals at Tanglewood, Ravinia, Lucerne, Spoleto and Mostly Mozart. Together they have been featured at the prestigious Da Camera Series in Los Angeles, at the Clark Art Museum in Massachusetts, and on Live From Fraser from WGBH-Radio Boston.
General admission is $10 ($5 for students) at the door. Admission is free to Cornell students, faculty, staff, emeriti faculty, and retired staff, and to Purple Pass holders. The Purple Pass is free to residents of Mount Vernon and Lisbon and families with children enrolled in the Mount Vernon and Lisbon school districts.
