Home sweet office

Gabrielle Read-Hess ’07 could be forgiven if she sometimes feels like taking a nap in her office. Not that long ago, it was her residence hall room, after all.

As a student, Gabrielle Reed-Hess ’07 lived in the very room that is now her office in the Paul K. Scott Alumni Center

Read-Hess is the stewardship coordinator in the Alumni and College Advancement division, and her office is on the first floor of the Paul K. Scott Alumni Center at Rood House. During her junior year, when it was still just “Rood House” and a residence hall, she lived in that space. Her desk is where her roommate’s bed once stood. Things are different now, including the fact that a shared bathroom that separated two rooms was removed and that space is part of the office.

During her senior year—the last year Rood House was used as a residence hall before its transformation into the Scott Alumni Center—she lived on the second floor, in what’s now the office of Kristi Webster Columbus ’96, senior director of development.
