Rock the Vote at Cornell College on Oct. 16

The Cornell College Republicans and the Cornell College Democrats are hosting a Rock the Vote event on campus from 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16. The event will include stations on the Ped Mall, where political organizations and elected officials will reach out to students, and an early voting location in Cole Library. There will also be an event on the Orange Carpet in the Thomas Commons, where KRNL, the college radio station, will play music, and Bon Appétit, the college's dining services provider, will have catered food available for students who have an "I Voted" sticker. Purpose Cornell College, a vibrant liberal arts college in Mount Vernon, Iowa, seeks to engage its students and community in the election process. Cornell’s mission is to sustain “a community devoted to liberal learning and democratic values,” and to that end, the college encourages student participation in the state of Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucuses. Throughout the election season, Cornell will host candidates for elected office. Disclaimer Cornell College does not endorse any candidate seeking elected office or any political party. The college does support critical thinking and analysis of political candidates and how to become engaged in the American democratic process.
