Inaugural Hilltop Harvest Festival Oct. 11
Bon Appétit, the dining services provider at Cornell College, is hosting the inaugural Hilltop Harvest Festival on Oct. 11.
The festival, which runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside West Science, is a chance for students and community members to meet the farmers who grow the food served at the Hilltop Café. There will also be apple bobbing, face painting, pumpkin carving, and a best apple dessert contest.
The farmers will have produce for sale, as well as meat, eggs, bakery items and crafts. Produce and food will be available from 9 to 11 a.m.; while craft vendors will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other activities scheduled include a pumpkin patch display put on by Hull Farms.
Bon Appétit, which has been Cornell’s dining services provider since 2012, buys 40 percent of the food served on campus within 150 miles of Mount Vernon, Iowa, and is committed to sustainability, local food production, and seasonal cooking.
