Commencement moved indoors

Cornell College will confer degrees on approximately 270 students during its Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on May 11. The ceremony will take place in the Small Multi-Sport Center due to inclement weather forecasts this weekend.

The speeches from Shannon Reed, associate professor of English, and Daniel Dempsey, a graduating senior from Eagle Creek, Ore., are available below.

Commencement

The weekend’s activities will begin Saturday, with Baccalaureate scheduled for 3 p.m. Seniors’ words of gratitude for family, friends, and mentors will be read at the service. The Rev. Catherine Quehl-Engel, college chaplain, will deliver the sermon.

Commencement will include a traditional academic processional by faculty and will be followed by a reception.
