Senior art exhibits open April 6

Senior thesis art exhibits will open April 6 in the Peter Paul Luce Gallery at Cornell College. The show, which opens with a reception from 2-4 p.m. on April 6, will feature the works of Hannah Wilber, Katelynn Paul, Kathleen O’Connor, and Patrick Loughlin.

Patrick Loughlin is a senior Studio Art and Biology major from Cherokee, Iowa. His exhibition looks to combine a simple mechanical construction with the incorporation of photo making. The overall idea is to capture a subject from all angles.

Kathleen O’Connor is a Studio Art and K-12 Education Major from Waukegan, Ill. Her show will display developmental paint application techniques using only pallet knives. She also will experiment with how color creates depth and movement within non-objective spaces.

Katelynn Paul is a senior Studio Art and English Creative Writing major from Hammondsville, Ohio. Her show is titled “Brainspace” and will feature abstract expressionist art that delves into internal states and works with the manipulation of bodies and colors. It’s the weird stuff.

Hannah Wilber is a Studio Art major from Los Angeles. Her photography show will exhibit instant photos in an effort to convey that even unedited photos do not always depict what they seem.
