Teach in and vigil for Syria set for Sept. 18

The Cornell College Chaplain and Spiritual Life Office, along with several student organizations, is sponsoring a teach-in and healing peace vigil on Syria on Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in Allee Chapel.

Politics Professor David Yamanishi and Aaron Hagler, ACM/Mellon post-doctoral teacher-scholar fellow in Middle Eastern history, will address chemical weapons use on citizens of Syria by their government, the social, historical, and political reality of present day Syria, and diplomatic and moral issues for the international community. The vigil will conclude with a candle lighting and inter-spiritual healing peace vigil led by Chaplain and students.
