Kay Langseth to be vice president for business affairs and treasurer

Cornell College has hired Kay Langseth to be its vice president for business affairs and treasurer, effective Oct. 1.Langseth has served as vice president of finance and administration at Hastings College in Hastings, Neb., since 2008. She has more than 30 years of experience in finance at colleges, universities, and the healthcare sector. At Hastings, she oversaw financial operations for a college with an enrollment of about 1,100 and an endowment of approximately $70 million. During her time there, she helped establish a Human Resources office, develop a technology upgrade plan, and implement a financial service system.

Cornell President Jonathan Brand said he was excited to have Langseth join the college’s leadership team.

“I am very pleased that Kay is joining us,” he said. “She has successful and direct experience with this very position in the context of an enrollment-driven residential liberal arts college. As a result, she knows the challenges and opportunities for institutions like Cornell College. She will be an exemplary team player alongside our faculty, students, staff, and Board of Trustees as we ambitiously advance Cornell.”
