Commencement set for May 12
Cornell College will confer degrees on more than 260 students during its Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on May 12. The ceremony will take place outdoors, in the quad bordered by South, Norton, and College halls. This is the second year the college will hold an outdoor commencement.
Craig Tepper, professor of biology, will give the faculty address, and Kelly Tweito, a graduating senior from Scottsdale, Ariz., will give the student address.
The weekend’s activities will begin Saturday, with Baccalaureate scheduled for 3 p.m. Seniors’ words of gratitude for family, friends, and mentors will be read at the service. The Rev. Catherine Quehl-Engel, college chaplain, will deliver the sermon.
Commencement will include a traditional academic processional by faculty and will be followed by a reception on the pedestrian mall.
