Cornell College professors among the best

Cornell College is on the list of the 25 colleges with the best professors, according to the Center for College Affordability and Productivity.

Cornell is one of two Iowa schools on the list, which was published on CBS.com. It was one of a number of liberal arts schools on the list. This isn’t the first time the college’s faculty have been recognized for their teaching prowess. In 2011 U.S. News and World Report named Cornell one of the schools with the greatest focus on undergraduate education.

Drawn from across the United States, Cornell professors have degrees from schools including Harvard, Princeton, Oxford, Columbia, and M.I.T. They are professionally active, nationally recognized scholars, artists, and musicians. Ninety-six percent hold the highest degree awarded in their field, and they come to Cornell specifically to teach and mentor undergraduates and be active in the campus community. Among Cornell’s faculty are a classics professor awarded a national teaching award, the author of three economics textbooks, and a biologist who has helped students discover new species in the tropics and in Iowa.

Cornell has long been recognized as a top institution, and was included as one of 40 Colleges That Change Lives. The college has also been cited in The Fiske Guide to Colleges as a “Top Financial Find.” The Princeton Review also cited Cornell as among the best in the country.
