Economics and Business professor publishes textbook
Todd Knoop, professor of economics and business at Cornell College, has written a textbook titled “Global Finance in Emerging Market Economies” that will be released Jan. 31.
The book covers the characteristics of financial systems in emerging markets and their differences from those in developed countries. The book’s description notes that although much of the world’s economic growth comes from developing economies, people in developing nations have trouble finding reliable, affordable credit, making it difficult to finance business ventures.
This is Knoop’s third book. In 2004 he released “Recessions and Depressions: Understanding Business Cycles,” and in 2008 he released “Modern Financial Macroeconomics: Panics, Crashes, and Crises.” He has taught at Cornell College since 1998, and has a Ph.D. in economics from Purdue University.
