President Barack Obama's visit to Cornell College

President Barack Obama made a campaign stop at Cornell College  Oct. 17 and tried to woo Iowans with a proposal to add 100,000 math and science teachers if re-elected. A crowd of 2,000 students, faculty, staff and community members, along with an overflow crowd of 800 and dozens of media organizations from around the region and the country, packed into the Richard and Norma Small Multi-Sport Center to witness President Obama's first appearance after debating Republican challenger Mitt Romney Tuesday night. A full video of the speech is on NBC, and an excerpt from the overflow event was posted by The Des Moines Register. The event was covered by media across the state and the nation, including the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Businessweek, The Des Moines Register, NPR, the AP, and even France 24. Photos from the event are below.
