Cornell College partners for research
Cornell College is one of five Iowa colleges and universities that have joined with Tanager Place, a community mental health facility, to create the Tanager Place Research Center.
The center will help develop a fellowship program for faculty and students to help perform research, as well as share the findings with interested parties, including policy makers.
Melinda Green, associate professor of psychology, said that the center will be helpful to students and faculty pursuing research into the socioeconomic, biological and psychological factors that affect children.
“The findings will increase our understanding of changes needed to promote the health and wellness of our nation’s children and their families,” she said.
Green will serve on the center’s Institutional Review Board.
Coe College, Mount Mercy University, St. Ambrose University, and the University of Iowa are the other four institutions that are part of the partnership.
