Pamela Gerard has been named Vice President for Alumni and College Advancement at Cornell College.
Gerard, a Cedar Rapids resident, is currently Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Loras College in Dubuque. She will begin work at the college on Aug. 1 and succeeds Peter Wilch ’94, who left Cornell in May to work at the University of San Francisco.
Before coming to Loras, Gerard was Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and secretary of the college at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill. Lake Forest, like Cornell, is a member of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, a consortium of academically excellent, independent liberal arts colleges located in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Colorado. She also served as Vice President for Philanthropy at Lake Forest Hospital, as director of development at Vanderbilt University and as Director of Development and Public Relations for the Salvation Army.
Cornell President Jonathan Brand said he was thrilled to have Gerard join the college.
“Pam’s impressive experience and expertise at colleges, including Lake Forest, another ACM institution, makes her a truly great fit for Cornell,” Brand said. “We’re looking forward to her leadership for the division of alumni and college advancement and know she’ll do tremendous work to make Cornell an even greater school.”
Gerard said she is also excited to begin work at Cornell.
“Cornell is a top-tier liberal arts college with visionary leadership and is positioned extremely well. I’m thrilled to be returning to the ACM and hope to contribute to an even brighter future for Cornell College.”
