Journalist speaking about economic crisis on May 8
Award-winning journalist Robert Samuelson will speak at Cornell College about “Europe and the World Economic Crisis” on May 8 at 3:30 p.m. in Hedges Conference Room in the Thomas Commons.
Samuelson writes a weekly economics column for the Washington Post. He was a columnist and contributing editor for Newsweek magazine and his articles have been published by The National Journal, the Sunday Times of London, the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe, The New Republic and other prestigious publications.
He is the 1993 winner of the John Hancock Award for Best Business and Financial Columnist and was named by the Washingtonian magazine as among the top 50 journalists in the capital city.
Samuelson is the author of “The Great Inflation and Its Aftermath: The Past and Future of American Affluence” (2008) and “The Good Life and Its Discontents: The American Dream in the Age of Entitlement, 1945-1995” (1995). He received his BA in Government from Harvard University. His lecture is sponsored by the Berry Center for Economics, Business, and Public Policy.
